The Felixstowe Community First Responder group is made up from volunteers who live, or work, within the local community and have been trained to attend certain categories of emergency 999 calls by The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
When you call 999 for a medical emergency, if you live in or around the Felixstowe area, including The Trimley's, Kirton, Bucklesham, Falkenham & Levington, the control desk will dispatch an ambulance and if it is appropriate, will also contact an on duty member of the Community First Responders team who will help provide Basic Life support or monitor and stabilise the patient providing appropriate care until the ambulance crew arrives.
The Felixstowe Community First Responders are tasked to attend serious medical incidents within the community, using training and equipment supplied by the East of England Ambulance service.
